The subject of False Self Employment in Construction has been a topic of discussion for some time and the latest update was in March when the summary of responses was published.
"As indicated in the consultation, the Government recognises the effect that the economic downturn has had on the construction industry. It is the intention that the test developed as a result of this further work with stakeholders will take effect when the industry is in a stronger position."
Quote taken from the HM Treasury document: False Self Employment in Construction: taxation of workers - summary of consultation responses and is subject to Crown Copyright.
Although positive in the sense that both the economic health of the construction industry and the views of those involved are being considered it is worth remembering that the overall message portrayed was that the Government remains committed to addressing the issue they have identified.
