Friday the 28th May saw a welcome return of the Crest Plus Buffet! Not just any old buffet but a wonderful spread of delicacies all brought in by members of staff to share with their colleagues and help raise money for charity.

Why all this lovely food?
A close friend from within the recruitment industry is running in the 10th annual ASICS British 10K London Run with his colleagues from Nottingham, in aid of CP Sport, a charity very close to his heart.
We decided that it was something we really wanted to get involved with and that we would not only sponsor him but help raise awareness of the charity and the work they do, both internally and with our own suppliers.
The theme of the day was sport and the colour red to fit in with CP Sport and in addition to the buffet where each member of staff donates an item picked from a hat, from sandwiches to cup cakes, there were collection boxes and a raffle with prizes donated by a number of our very generous suppliers who we would like to thank again for their kind support.

We would also like to thank Doorsteps Sandwich Deli for providing the paper plates and plastic cutlery.
A total of £100 was raised on the day and Managing Director, Derek Harling, kindly agreed that Crest Plus would match that, giving us a new total of £200 towards CP Sport.
Information on CP Sport

"Cerebral Palsy Sport is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of children and adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. The condition affects around one in every 400 births and can be caused from lack of oxygen at birth, damage to the developing foetus, a viral infection, certain drugs or poor nutrition. The number of babies born with cerebral palsy is not declining.
People with the condition may find themselves marginalised in society and may have psychological problems due to the frustrations caused by their disability.
Cerebral Palsy Sport aims to change all this. By engaging children and adults with cerebral palsy in sport, we can help to build self-confidence, friendships and support networks. Individuals come to our events and relish the opportunity to participate in sport in an inclusive environment where they are no longer made to feel 'different'.
Some of our members go onto elite level performance. Indeed, members of Cerebral Palsy Sport have won more Paralympic medals than any other disability organisation. However, the charity is very much dedicated to grass-roots sport where participation can make huge improvements in lives affected by cerebral palsy.
The charity does not receive any central funding and relies on the community to help raise funds. Without the support of the public, Cerebral Palsy Sport could not continue delivering its packed programme of sporting events." (Text taken from CP Sports fund raising page)

Future Fundraising
In addition to this fund raising day we intend to hold a School Sports Day charging entrance fees to races, games and another raffle as part of our Annual Staff Day at Chester Races later this month, again in support of CP Sport.
