Business Unit Manger, Paul McDonnell supported a group of friends from the recruitment industry with their National 3 Peak Challenge, as part of their year long company Charity Challenge, aiming to raise over £20k over 12 months for charities and good causes throughout the UK.

Only days after returning from his holiday Paul was being Paul and threw himself back into work, and drove the support vehicle for the climbing team.

The 3 Peaks Challenge really is a challenge! It involves climbing the three highest peaks, in Scotland, England, and Wales respectively, all within 24 hours.

The Peaks are:
- Ben Nevis, in Scotland (1344m)
- Scafell Pike, in England (978m)
- Snowdon, in Wales (1085m)

As you can see from the route they took, although he wasn't part of the actual climbing team, the driving is a challenge in itself. Paul's main concern was that he wouldn't be able to entertain his passengers with his usual jokes and witty banter as they wanted to catch a few hours sleep between climbs.

Happily the challenge was a huge success, with all those going up Snowdon on the Saturday afternoon coming down in one piece and with time to spare! So far the pledges made will contribute over £4,000 towards the Charity Challenge target of £20k.

Paul enjoyed it so much he's considering taking part next year but this time being part of the climbing team, possibly involving Crest Plus, so watch this space!

Charities and Good Causes benefiting from the year long fundraising initiative include:

Antenatal Results & Choices - www.arc-uk.org
ARC is the only national charity which provides non-directive support and information to expectant and bereaved parents throughout and after the antenatal screening and testing process.

Ataxia - www.ataxia.org.uk
'Ataxia' means 'lack of order'. People with ataxia have problems with movement, balance, and speech. Over 10,000 people in the UK have a form of ataxia. There is currently no cure but we are working to find one everyday.

MacMillan Cancer Care - www.macmillan.org.uk
MacMillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. We provide practical, medical and financial support and push for better cancer care. Cancer affects us all. We can all help. We are MacMillan.

Well done to all those who took part and best of luck with the £20k Challenge.
