Valerie Lawton ACMA MAAT
Joint Managing Director

Val joined the Crest Plus team in March 2018 and is our lead on finance, compliance and regulatory issues.  She is a Chartered Accountant and has significant expertise in contractor payments having worked in the recruitment industry for some 28 years.  Outside of work, Val is a passionate supporter of Claire House Children’s Hospice in Chester where she serves as a trustee.

Paul McDonnell
Joint Managing Director

Paul joined Crest Plus at the end of 2006.  After becoming Head of Sales he was appointed Director in 2012.  Paul and his team seek to create long-lasting partnerships with recruitment agencies across the UK, listening and responding to their needs in an ever-changing legislative landscape. Outside work, Paul is a keen sports fan and a dad to 2 very ‘sporty’ children. He manages to combine the two by supporting his children in all of their activities at every opportunity whilst still being able to get Old Trafford!

Paul Flannery
Head of Group Operations 

Paul joined Crest Plus in 2007 and leads our operations for both Crest Plus and JSA Group. Compliance is very much at the top of his agenda, alongside helping all contractors to get the most from their working life.

When not at work, Paul enjoys football, cycling, triathlon and spending time with his family.

Marko Carter
Head of IT

Marko joined Crest Plus in 2006 and leads our IT team, ensuring clients and staff have access to the information they need, when they need it.  His ethos is to put the customer at the heart of IT strategy, helping us to serve customers better and more efficiently through the use of technology.

When not at work, Marko can be found riding his motorbikes, playing bass guitar and spending time with his wife and two young children.

Sam Mead
Head of Payroll & Projects

Sam joined Crest Plus in 2005 and manages our highly skilled payments, finance and HR teams.  Her priority is to enable us to provide excellent customer service alongside support functions that help to maintain the business values. When not at work, Sam enjoys cooking, going to concerts and spending time with family and friends.

Tim Hunt
Strategic Planning and Sales Director

Tim joined Crest Plus in 2007 and became our Finance and Legal Compliance Director in the late noughties. Tim re-joined Crest Plus at the beginning of 2020 as our Strategic Planning and Sales Director. As a Chartered Accountant with over 14 years of experience in the temporary workers’ sector, Tim is dedicated to adding value to the industry by coupling his knowledge and experience with imaginative thinking.

Tim has been a member of the board at the FCSA since 2019, having previously been the Vice-Chairman in 2014 and 2015, and continues to dedicate his time to compliance and creating added value for recruitment businesses.
